What we offer?
The Packaging Engineering team is part of Logistic Industrialisation EMEA and is responsible for the development, optimization and implementation of packaging solutions towards our car plants. All parts delivered to a plant must be transported and handled in packaging that are quality assured, ergonomic to handle and cost efficient. This is applicable in the complete supply chain, including empty return flows. This is why product packaging plays an important role in the general logistic setup, quality and landed cost structure.
We are now looking for a new team member, Packaging Coordinator who will act as a Senior packaging engineer to strengthen our efforts to launch our upcoming projects. The position is located in Gothenburg but travelling is to be expected due to the global aspect of the job.
What you'll do?
You will coordinate, define and implement packaging solutions for parts according to Volvo Cars standards. Drive process improvements globally within the responsibility area and support the projects within logistics and all the production units globally. Having a coordinator role in this team, you will need to manage various packaging activities, work globaly and be connected with all relevant stakeholders.
You must ensure cost efficient and quality assured packaging solutions as well as smooth and cost efficient flows of packaging and components. Provide support to local plant packaging engineers when necessary and have a continuous contact with Manufaturing Engineering, R&D, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Production etc. will be part of your dalily scope of work. Build and maintaing good relationships with our suppliers, both packaging material suppliers as well as part suppliers will be one of your main responsibilities.
Do you fit the profile?
To be successful, you need experience in Packaging engineering, Product development or Puchasing. We also believe you have a relevant university degree, preferably engineering or other with sufficient work experience in the area. International experience within the logistics field and working with suppliers and production sites is an advantage. Since you will work in different projects, project lead competence will help you to excel in this role. If you have CAD engineering experience is meritorious, hence you would easier understand the constructional drawings and be eble to secure the part quality in dalily operations. You need to be fluent in English (written and verbal) and be a strong communicator.
The right candidate has good knowledge MS Office programs, have a strong communication skills and is not afraid to take on new challenges and assignemnts. We believe that you are positive, solution oriented, service minded with strong business acumen. You are a team player as well as self-driven and curious individual, who push for the changes and improvements when needed.
