We are delighted to welcome a new enthusiastic colleague to our department. The department for Chemical Processes and Pharmaceutical Development (CPPD) is looking for an organic chemist with expertise on the synthesis of oligonucleotides and polypeptides. The location for the position is Sodertalje.

At CPPD we run both commercial projects and research in areas such as pharmaceutical and process chemistry, formulation, and analytical chemistry. An important area is to develop new products from renewable raw materials and to reduce environmental impact through streamlining processes. We use our unique skills to solve problems and develop processes in close cooperation with our customers, ranging from small companies to multinational industries. We also develop our business and expertise through internal and external research projects. The work is preferably run in multidisciplinary project teams with great responsibility for deliveries.
Role description
As an organic chemist in RISE CPPD, you will work with a wide range of challenges related to the synthesis of chemical substances within our customer and research projects. The work includes the development of new synthesis methods, process development, reaction optimization and scale-up. Participating in sales work, research applications and leading projects is part of the role.
Your responsibility will consist of practical laboratory work and manufacturing as well as project management, knowledge and technical transmission, writing of customer reports, regulatory documents and scientific reports. You will also be part of writing grant applications and quotes for customers.
Your profile
We believe you have a PhD in organic chemistry and have a few years of experience. Even as a recent graduate, you may be qualified for this role as your technical ability is crucial. You are a curious, creative and open-minded. You are not afraid to take the initiative and you are enthusiastic about working in a laboratory environment. Collaboration and teamwork are your preferred way of working.
Technical and meritorious experience
The ideal candidate should have documented experience from the following areas:
We assume that you have a good understanding of design and synthesis of chemical molecules especially within the synthesis of nucleotides, oligonucleotides, peptides and polypeptides.
You have experience of synthesis, purification analysis and characterization from synthetically modified proteins and oligonucleotides.
Conjugation of peptides to other biomolecules, fluorophores that use click methodology, on solid phase or in solutions including purification, analysis and characterization using relevant instrumentation.
Conjugation of oligonucleotides with other biomolecules, fluorophores on solid phase using click methodology including purification, analysis and characterization using relevant instrumentation.
You speak and write English fluently. Knowledge of the Swedish language is not a requirement as long as you are eager to learn Swedish.
