About the job This position involves database design and DBA work on the Oracle platform. You will be the responsible database designer/DBA in various application projects. Different kinds of DBA related matters for maintenance will also be part of your responsibilities. The DBA Pool provides the other divisions with database design and DBA support for projects and maintenance on our three main platforms (Mainframe, Oracle and Data Warehouse) We are looking for an ambitious person who is ready to take on the important role as database designer/DBA where Swedish projects will be your main focus. You will be a key player in projects and will work in close cooperation with other project members.
What you need to succeed A relevant university degree or equivalent work experience within IT
At least five years experience as an Oracle Database Designer/DBA
Knowledge and experience from Oracle Utilities (Data Pump, AWR, SQL*Loader)
Experience from Enterprise Manager Grid Control
Good understanding of application programming, database and system design
Knowledge and experience of other relational databases is an advantage
Good communication skills in English, both oral and written.

Why work with us As a manager I like to be close to my team. I have worked at Swedbank for quite a number of years and share my managerial responsibilities with mainframe database work. We are a rather small department covering three database platforms. We have a culture of knowledge sharing and everyone is ready to help out whenever there is a need for it. An extra bonus is that you will get some insight into other DBMSs besides Oracle. I expect team members to work independently, ask for help when needed, show a willingness to share their knowledge and to help colleagues when necessary. I trust my team members and normally do not get involved in how work is carried out but team members' personal objectives are followed up on a regular basis. In addition, I like to be as open as possible with sharing information and also discuss topics outside the immediate job role, believing this will motivate people more.
