At the moment we are looking for the first trainee to our Operations department.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
At Operations we are responsible for the supply and distribution of Axis’ products, including Purchasing, Order handling, Production, Sourcing & Production Preparation, Sales & Operations Planning, Quality and Logistics. We are approximately 160 persons within Operations. Based in Lund, we interact with other Axis departments and a worldwide network of customers, distributors, suppliers, manufacturing partners and our configuration and logistics centers.
The trainee position will give you a thorough introduction to Axis, to the Operations department, and to our global supply chain. The program is focused on Sales & Operations Planning, a key function to understand the challenges and opportunities we have to master to continue the strong growth in Axis’ business. We are looking for someone special, and we expect you to deliver high quality output from day one!
The trainee program has three distinct phases:
• Phase I: Sales & Operations Planning. You will be a part of our Demand Planning team, working on researching, interpreting and predicting our markets and the expected demand of Axis’ products. These forecasts are used to plan our supply chain in terms of capacity and inventories. You will work cross-functionally, and will get valuable insights into Axis’ business model, products, markets, and our global sales and distribution setup. Your work is critical to us.
• Phase II: International project. This will be done from one of Axis’ international sales offices, most likely in America or Asia. Your project will build on your skills and experiences within S&OP from phase I.
• Phase III: Operations Development. You will join our Operations Development team, were we initiate, facilitate and drive strategic projects to improve our business, both internally and in our global supply chain. You will be an integral part of the team, and will be fully responsible for your own projects.
Apart from your functional managers you will be assigned a mentor that will support and guide you throughout the entire program.
After the program you will be a part of our operations development team, giving you the chance to work as an in-house consultant to improve our operations, both internally and in our global supply chain.
In addition to the 3 months full time at an international Axis office, the position will also require some travelling during your time in Lund, approximately 10-15 days.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a fresh or recent graduate from Industrial Engineering & Management (I), Mechanical Engineering (M) or Technology Management (TM). Your studies have been focused on Supply Chain Management and/or Business & Innovation, with good results. We are looking for someone that is ambitious and social – teamwork and collaboration are essential to your success at Axis. In addition, you are structured and analytical. You can work independently but at the same time you successfully collaborate across organizational and cultural borders.
