Do you want to be part of bringing electrified and autonomous transport solutions to the market? Are you devoted to ensuring customer success? If you want to be part of building up a new business area and implementing new business models in practice - we are currently looking for an Operations manager to join the Mining and Quarry solutions team in Volvo Autonomous Solutions.

Who are we?

At Volvo Autonomous Solutions, we are passionate about the positive impact autonomous solutions will have on our society. We are on a journey to create something unique, developing cutting-edge technologies and sustainable solutions that will change the future of transportation. With entirely new business models and advanced technology, we will meet and exceed expectations from customers and contributing to a society that we want to live in.

The Mining and quarry solutions team is the main customer facing business element of Volvo Autonomous Solutions. We are responsible for customer interactions in the stages of Selling - Implementing and Operations of autonomous transport solutions. We work in close collaborations with the V.A.S. technology organization and other Volvo business areas to ensure customer success.

What will you be doing?

As an Operations Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that we fulfill our commitments according to the Transport-as-a-Service agreement between V.A.S. and our customers. You are the main commercial interface between Volvo and the customer once the transport solution is operational. This includes a wide range of tasks ranging from staying on top of profitability for your sites to handling productions planning with the customer and actively engaging with the customer and the wider Volvo organization to ensure that issues are solved as quickly as possible.

Another key part of the job is to have a close communication and follow up on performance with our local service partners, typically a Volvo Construction Equipment or Volvo Trucks dealer, who are contracted to perform preventive and corrective maintenance.

You are backed up by a dedicated technical support team that will handle day-to-day issues in direct connection with the customer and local partner.

You will also play an important role during the sales and implementation phases of a customer implementation project by providing input data of operational cost for TaaS pricing and making sure that commercial and practical preparations with the local partner and customer are in place when the transport solution is put in production and handed over to the customer.

Who are you?

As your daily work will consist of a lot of communication with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, we think you are an engaging communicator who can maintain excellent relationships also when finding solutions to pressing commercial and technical issues.

You likely have a background from previous roles that includes commercial, service market and/or productivity related interactions with Volvo dealers and end-customers. You have a good understanding of the mining and quarry business.

We also think that you enjoy working in a start-up environment where all the answers are not defined. You will be able to actively influence how Volvo Autonomous Solutions will develop our operational capabilities and way of working with customers and local partners in the future. Most likely you enjoy the challenge of creating structure by defining and improving processes and ways of working.

You have an entrepreneurial mindset, curiosity for new technologies and enjoy the challenge of taking new solutions and business models to the market.

Other possible qualifications for this role:
Knowledgeable about systems, processes and KPIs for service business e.g. spare parts distribution, heavy vehicle repair and maintenance, repair and maintenance cost etc
Knowledgeable about productivity in a mining and quarry context e.g. bottleneck handling, load and haul simulations, production planning etc
Fleet management and Total cost of ownership
You have an applicable university degree e.g. Engineering or Business administration context
Fluent in English, written and spoken. Additional language skills particularly in German or French is desirable

If you are interested to develop and increase your responsibility in the future, then Mining and Quarry Solutions will offer good opportunities as the organization is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years as we begin roll-out and scaling.
We adopt a continuous selection process so make sure to apply as soon as possible. Interviews will be held continuously with pause for vacation period during w29-w32. We look forward to receiving your application!
