Volvo Group Operations Graduate Program

During 15 intense and exciting months, starting September 2019, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group's global truck manufacturing organization. You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end to end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations.
In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will experience several "on-the-job" rotations and have the opportunity to work on real project assignments. In addition, you will join a number of learning modules where you get together with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

This is us, your new team:
Our GTO SW&EE Technology team consists of 17 highly engaged colleagues with a great mix of diversity and gender situated in Sweden, France and Belgium. Our target is to secure and develop the manufacturing process globally within Embedded Software and Electrical covering Europe, Asia and America. We define and drive strategies for both products and processes to improve the quality, efficiency and flexibility. We are also responsible to secure IT- System needs, hardware/equipment development and to develop/support the growing competence needs ahead. Our focus is both on existing product and processes and the future industry projects with the new technologies related to Electromobility, Connectivity and Vehicle Automation.

Main activities and responsibilities:
Your responsibility will be to explore how we can verify the advanced systems/products related to Vehicle Automation. From an Embedded Software and Electrical aspect analyze impacts and opportunities on the production processes concerning equipment, tools/systems, operations, methods, etc. Together with members from our team you will define the frames for this task and the different work streams to be evaluated. First you will get to know the current manufacturing process. You will then use this knowledge as a base to understand the gaps towards the future challenges and opportunities.

Work will then be done in global networks with stakeholders within Volvo Group. These networks will act as both an arena to build knowledge and understanding but also as forums to drive actions and questions to be able to capture the important aspects to be covered. Resources within our team will be involved and support the progress. We also want you to perform site visits as well as external benchmarking to get an understanding on technologies, processes, equipment etc. that are used internally and by other companies in our industry. SW&EE Technology will be a key area ahead and opportunities for you to develop as person and grow skills in a global context will be many.
