Volvo Group Operations Graduate Program

During 15 intense and exciting months, starting September 2019, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group's global truck manufacturing organization. You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end to end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations.
In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will experience several "on-the-job" rotations and have the opportunity to work on real project assignments. In addition, you will join a number of learning modules where you get together with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

At the Group Trucks Operation Plant in Köping we manufacture gearboxes for trucks, heavy vehicles and marine stern drives for Volvo Penta. The 1600 employees at the site work in an industrial world class environment. The plant is "Centre of Excellence" regarding Heavy Duty Transmissions.

This is us, your new team:
The area Production Engineering Assembly consists of around 20 production engineers with major engagement and responsibility to prepare and industrialize new products and processes, refine existing products, maintain and increase the capacity when required. The area is also responsible for the technical support and the continuous improvement efforts which can be divided into reactive problem solving and proactive focused improvements of methods and processes. A lot of the work is organized in projects and we can have different roles in different projects such as experts, project managers or work package leaders.

Main activities and responsibilities:
As a production engineer toward software and verification you will have a great opportunity for personal development. You can grow within engineering and become an expert that cooperates with universities and develop completely new methods for testing and verification and spreading knowledge globally within Volvo Group. As a production engineer towards software and verification you will also be involved in industrial future project related to for example such a data collection and co-active robots. You will be able to grow within agile project management, which will be the future work method for electro mobility.

This position requires good cross functional cooperation with production, as well as other support organizations and product development (design department) upstream in the process chain. A summary of your working areas:
Preparation and industrialization of new products and processes
Project related work in product and industrialization projects including equipment procurement
Lead improvement projects
Perform investigations and participate in global development work
Business development within the own organization

Who are you?
To be successful in this role you will possess the following qualifications and skills:
MSc in Engineering in Computer Science or similar
Maximum two years of previous working experience, prior to or after graduation
Solid English and Swedish skills
Communicative team player with the ambition to develop both yourself and the business that you are working in
Good analytical and problem solving skills as well as a strong technical interest
Work permit for Sweden
