Volvo Group Operations Graduate Program

If you are up for the challenge of developing the next generation of production plants and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!
During 15 intense and exciting months, starting September 2019, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group's global truck manufacturing organization. You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities worldwide. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end to end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations.
In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will experience several "on-the-job" rotations and have the opportunity to work on real project assignments. In addition, you will join a number of learning modules where you get together with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

At the Group Trucks Operation Plant in Skövde we manufacture heavy duty engines for all Volvo Group applications. Guided by the Continuous Improvement, the engine plant provides a modern, quiet and pleasant working environment. This is us, your new team:
In the Logistic Strategist role you will work with two departments that support and develop our external and internal logistics. It is a diverse and dynamic work place with plenty of opportunities and challenges ahead. Among your coworkers, you will find roles such as material planners, internal logistic specialists, logistic developers, and hands on production technicians as well as project managers.

Main activities and responsibilities
In this role, your main tasks will be to perform analyzes and based on this then formulate strategies that we need to embrace to meet the demands of the outside world on our Logistic set-up. You will be a part of collecting data and analyzing future scenarios linked to internal and external factors and based on these formulate possible strategies and create a basis for priorities. As a Logistic Strategist, you also are to screen the latest findings and new technologies and identify, and possibly drive, potential areas for implementation in our business. As your source of reference, you will need to analyze existing data, collaborate with many different departments and draw conclusions from what you encounter.

Travelling: Approx. 5-10days/month on top of the program

Who are you?

To be successful in this role you possess the following qualifications:
A MSc in logistics or similar
Excellent English skills, both spoken and written. Swedish is meritorious
Maximum of two years previous work-experience after graduation
To be a communicative team player with the ambition to develop both yourself and the business that you are working in
Valid work-permit for Sweden, if not citizen

On the personality side, we are looking for a person with very good communicative skills with an ability to inspire, and feel comfortable speaking for a crowd. We also see that you have very good analytical and strategic abilities with the capacity to handle and process big amount of information. Moreover we think you are a team player who has a passion for innovation and new technologies and last but not least, a big passion for Logistics!
