During 15 intense and exciting months, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group's global truck manufacturing organization. You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end to end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations.
In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will experience several "on-the-job" rotations and have the opportunity to work on real project assignments. In addition, you will join a number of learning modules where you get together with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.
Position - Big Data Analytics Engineer
Our organization
Volvo Powertrain in Köping manufactures and assembles gearboxes for trucks and heavy vehicles and marine stern drives for Volvo Penta. Our ambition is to continuously improve our methods and processes and you will have an important role in this work. The 1500 employees at the site work in an industrial world class environment. The operations at the plant include machining and heat treatment of components as well as assembly of complete gearboxes. The plant is "Centre of Excellence" regarding Heavy Duty Transmissions. Our responsibility is to develop and verify process concepts and solutions for global needs as well as concentrate and develop critical competences within the technology area.
This is us, your new team
Engineering Technologies is a central part of the Industrial Engineering unit. The department purpose is to secure future factory state by investigating and developing new machining and assembly technologies with both local and global functions within GTO. By doing so, we contribute to business goals and objectives. The team consist of 14 specialists within different technology areas. A lot of the work is organized in projects and we can have different roles in different projects such as experts, project managers or work package leaders.
Main activities and responsibilities
As a Big Data Analytics Engineer you will have a great opportunity for personal development. You will be given the chance to grow within engineering and become an expert that collaborates with universities and develop completely new methods and spread knowledge globally within Volvo. You will also be able to grow within project management and leadership.
Your mission is to understand the complete analytics chain from storing, structuring, modeling, to visualizing and translating data into actionable insights. Review, advice and communicate in data analytics use cases. In addition, you will get an understanding of the business, different tools as well as work cross-functionally with different teams within and outside the plant. You will also project member or/and leader of project related work within technology development
Who are you?
A BSc or MSc in engineering science, computer science, business administration or logistics
Maximum two years of previous working experience, prior to or after graduation
Have solid English and Swedish skills
A communicative team player with the ambition to develop both yourself and the business that you are working in.
Have a valid work-permit for applied country if not citizen
Interested in new technologies for example, IOT, Data Warehousing, and AI
