Operational Planner with Developer Ambitions at Volvo Service Market Logistics

Service Market Logistics (SML) is part of Group Trucks Operations. We are an organization of approximately 4,200 employees in more than 40 locations globally. Every day, we are delivering world class operational excellence for our customers, based on smart logistics solutions. Our job is to develop, manage and optimize the Service Market supply chain for all Volvo Group brands and JV's. The scope for Service Market Logistics includes Supply Chain Optimization, Inventory Management, Distribution Center operations, Customs & Trade as well as the development of logistics solutions to ensure the highest possible parts availability, delivery precision and quality everywhere in the world. We strive for an innovative and diverse workplace, living the Volvo Group values with high focus on customer success.
We are now looking for an Operation Planner to the Operational Planning/Refill team in Eskilstuna.

Who are we?
We strongly believe that a supportive environment, a curios mindset and team effort give us passion for what we do. And when we have that passion, our customers will notice!
We are on a fantastic journey where we explore new technologies and solutions with the aim to develop future competitive differentiators for the Volvo Group. You will play an important role in creating the supply chain of the future.

What we do
We are responsible for balancing the spare parts stock between our central warehouses in Europe and some twenty distribution centers globally, supporting Volvo Construction Equipment, Renault Trucks, and Volvo Penta.
We work in collaboration with our global colleagues to ensure spare parts availability for our customers, in the most cost-efficient way. The target is to balance right availability of spare parts to an optimized cost for transport and capital tied up.

Main responsibilities
The responsibilities of an Operational Planner include analyzing weekly system-generated purchase proposals and take actions to secure warehouse availability. The work is independent and free but with certain daily or weekly deadlines. This work is supported by tools and models, which are constantly being developed and refined by you as a user.
You will be responsible for the replenishment of two or more Distribution Centers (DCs) in the world. You will be our speaking partner to colleagues in the DCs and Business Area and will drive collaborations to find solutions for existing or future challenges.
A central part of the role is to have an understanding of the performance of your market and in what direction it develops, this is done by having a close dialogue with our counterparts in the regions and by continuously overviewing, analyzing and communicating supply chain data.
You have an important role in developing the way we work within our team and organization. Continuous Improvement is very close to heart for us and we strive to develop state of the art solutions for supply chain optimization.

Who are you?
You are not afraid to take on any challenge with a positive mindset and a smile. You like to take the ownership and feel responsibility for the market where you serve our Customers. You are also great at communicating and collaborating to reach the goals you set up, whether it's internally in our team or with your colleague on the other side of the planet.
You are passionate about trying new things and are always looking to expand your knowledge. We don't think that you are an expert in all the technical aspects of the job we do, but you have the will and mindset to explore, learn and develop.
Some examples of areas where we want you to either already have some experience or feel strong curiosity for are
Power BI
Coding (Python, Java)
Data management (SQL)

You need to have strong analytic skills. You like to work with large amounts of data to perform in-depth analyses and you have the ability to present the result of the analysis in an understandable way. If you also have previous experience from studying or working with logistics and inventory management, it's very meriting as that's the core of what we do.

Do you want to be a part of our journey? Then we are hoping to hear from you!
