Service Market Logistics (SML) is a global organization in more than 30 countries.
We ensure the highest possible spare parts availability everywhere in the world for all brands in Volvo Group. Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) is a global team of approx. 120 people belonging to SML. We design the service market supply chain up to the dealer's inventory in terms of material planning and footprint. What we do has a direct impact on the satisfaction of Volvo Group customers. We are in an exciting transformation phase introducing new technologies to improve our performance.
Operational planning is a department in Supply Chain Optimization.
We have a global responsibility to secure Service Market Parts Availability for Volvo warehouses, in a cost-efficient way. The objective is to balance right availability of spare parts to an optimized cost for transport and capital tied up.
The team in Gothenburg are responsible for inventory management and deployment of spare parts from our central warehouse in Europe to some twenty Distribution Centers globally, supporting Volvo Truck, Volvo Bus and Volvo Penta. We are a diverse team working in an international environment with a broad global network.
We are now looking for an Operational planner.
What will you do?
Supply Chain Optimization is in a transformation journey, utilizing the possibilities with new technology and advanced analytics. As a member of Operational planner team, you take part in an interesting change journey. We are, as we speak, developing our future processes and job roles as well as joining the digital transformation journey, focusing on agile development and office automation.
While this position partly consists of operational tasks, there is also great opportunity for personal growth in areas such as programming, machine learning and microservice development in our upcoming cloud native planning solution. All areas where you will play an important role to support the continuous development of the team.
As operational planner you are responsible for the refill of some of our Distribution Centers in the world. A central part of the work is to understand and visualize our performance as well as take corrective actions when deviating from targets.
You are the speaking partner to our colleagues in Service Market Logistics and the Brand organizations and you take lead to proactively work with improvements in close collaboration with our colleagues. The team takes an active part in improving the day to day work, continuous improvement is a focused area for us.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a person who is curious to understand how supply networks really work - and can translate that understanding to supply chain performance improvement and need for visualization.
To contribute to the team's development, you need to be self-driven, take ownership and drive cross functional initiatives. You are skilled in data analytics and interested in deepening your knowledge within coding using Python, R, SQL, java. As important is visualization capabilities, for exemple in Power BI or Qlik, and to be able to tell a story based on your data. Working in our global environment requires communication and people skill, customer focus goes without saying. You are proficient in English.
Education: University degree in supply chain, logistics or mathematics/statistics or experience equivalent to the same knowledge level.
