hela Sverige We are expanding our department Global Accounts Sea (GAS) with an Operational Manager who will be responsible for the daily operations for our largest customer account in Sweden.
Your role
As Operational Manager, you will work in close cooperation with the department manager, Manager Oceanfreight GAS, with focus on managing the day-to-day operational activities.
The department consists of 30 employees, divided into different customer groups, who coordinate ocean freight for one customer. The department consists of four teams and you will be responsible for the daily operational activities of one or two of the teams. You will work close to the current Operational Manager who is responsible for the other teams.
Your key accountabilities will be:
• Lead the day-to-day operational activities of your customer teams
• Responsible for the implementation of new SOPs and processes
• Lead regular operational staff meetings as well as operational meetings with carriers
• Be the first point of escalation for any day-to-day operational issues
• Be the customer's main contact for day-to-day operational issues
• Together with the Manager Oceanfreight GAS (or independently) partake in customer activities and meetings representing the department and the company
• Contribute to operational KPI's as communicated by management, as well as decided by the customer, are met
• Participate in vacation planning together with the Manager Oceanfreight GAS
• Participate in recruitment processes together with the Manager Oceanfreight GAS
As Operational Manager you will get the opportunity to manage teams working for one of the top customers within the Global shipping industry. You will be placed in our head office in Gothenburg and report directly to the Manager Oceanfreight GAS. Business travel in Sweden and abroad can occur. It is a permanent position and start date is as soon as possible.
Your background & competencies
To succeed in this role we believe that you have a degree on Bachelor level or equivalent work experience. You have 5-10 years' experience of working with ocean freight forwarding. Earlier team leading experience is a merit.
Other requirements for the role:
• You manage and establish good customer and supplier relations in a professional way
• Good knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft Office, with focus on Excel
• Able to communicate professionally in Swedish and English
• A wide network in the industry is preferred
