AkzoNobel is implementing operational excellence throughout the company; named ALPS (AkzoNobel leading performance system). A companywide program of standardized work processes and continuous improvement.
In the business area Specialty Chemicals (over 60 manufacturing sites worldwide) maintenance and reliability are key elements of operational excellence. Therefore, AkzoNobel is developing and implementing World Class Maintenance. This includes work processes, (IT) tools, standards and building capabilities in the field of maintenance and reliability.

As an Operational Excellence Expert you will be a part of a professional team working with designing and implementing World Class maintenance within ALPS. You will spend most of your time at our manufacturing sites, supporting implementation, training and coaching our site teams. As a consequence you will be travelling very frequently; on average 75% of the time. This will partly be in Sweden, partly in Western Europe and sometimes also in other parts of the world.

Responsibilities
Design:
• Participates in the World Class Maintenance design team. Does design work and aligns with team to ensure the overall package is complete in content and one package with one look and feel and one approach.
• his can include Precision Maintenance, Reliability process and methods, Supporting processes and tools, Standards and Training materials.
Deployment:
• Responsible for assessing the current state at site and developing and agreeing with site a deployment plan for the work processes, methods and tools.
• Responsible for managing the deployment of the maintenance work processes, tools and methods on the site according to the plan.
• Responsible for supporting, coaching and training the operational managers and employees on sites. The site is accountable for implementing, the maintenance expert motivates, energizes, guides, supports and challenges.
• Responsible for aligning with experts for other work streams in their team and feeding back valuable insights to the Operational Excellence Team Lead

• Extensive and hands-on experience in Maintenance management, Maintenance Engineering and/or Reliability Engineering
• In-depth knowledge of state of the art maintenance processes and tools
• Preferred:
o Experience in continuous improvement tools such as Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous Improvement methodologies and tools
o Experience in implementing maintenance work processes and cultural change
o Proficient in SAP-PM
o Experienced in Process Safety Management

• Passion for world class maintenance and showing that.
• Able to lead workshops and working groups
• Taking information from real life observations, eager to spend time on the shop-floor
• Good communication skills, from plant managers to line operators. Able to influence and get things done without having a line management relation.
• Seen by others as credible, trustworthy and an expert
• Focused on results; able to challenge.
• Good problem-solving skills, able to identify and structure issues, run accurate analyses and synthesize recommendations
