We at Ericsson Packet Core, are currently looking for a passionate open source developer.
You will engage with open source projects and communities, taking part in building a bridge between open source communities and Ericsson. You will help us become more visible in the open source world.
Any software product today contains at least some open source software and Ericsson products are no exception. Our product development teams, that you will support, works with Ericsson's industry-leading products that is a part of 5G-networks. We use Cloud Native technologies and tools to develop our products on a container based micro-service architecture.

Responsibilities & Tasks

As an open source developer, you will mainly work in open source communities where you will be an Ericsson ambassador, advocating for improvements that we believe brings the project forward. You will implement new functionality, correct issues and contribute to a healthy community.
You will also work closely with our product development teams, supporting them with your gained expertise. The area and projects to contribute to are decided in collaboration with stakeholders.

Technologies we use

We work on Linux based systems and as open source developers we use the GitHub workflow or similar.
Quality assurance and CI/CD systems are often used in projects, like CircleCI, Travis or GitHub Actions.
To understand our product's needs, knowledge of modern web applications running in a cloud native environment is essential. Our applications run with help of tools such as Kubernetes, Docker and Helm.

Qualifications

Experience in open source development, projects, and processes
Polyglot (like Go, Erlang, C, C++)
Knowledge in data communication and networking
Experience in automation and quality assurance
Familiarity with virtualization, clusters, and container-related technologies like Kubernetes
Degree in MSc/BSc level in Computer Science or the equivalent level of knowledge
Fluent in English, written and verbal
