hela Sverige The Offshore Tower System Integration Leader (SIL) is a member of the Offshore Tower and Balance of Plant subsystem team.
The Tower SIL will have the responsibility for the technical leadership of all design activities for the tower system. This includes the tower shell, mechanical and electrical internals.
This position is open for candidates to be located in Oslo (Norway), Karlstad (Sweden), Salzbergen (Germany) or Greenville (USA).
Essential Responsibilities:
The SIL will define the design requirements and work closely with the specialized design teams for the part definition. The SIL will be responsible to flow down the system level requirements into component level requirements on safety, design, quality and cost.
The SIL will be responsible for the integration of the various system components into the totality of the tower system as well as the interfaces to the other subsystems.
The position requires frequent interaction with the other offshore subsystem teams, the global engineering teams, supply chain and the product line leadership team.
The position requires some domestic and international travelling.
Typical tasks:
Generate design memos to specify component level requirements for complete tower systems
Initiate trade off studies to optimize component level solutions.
Evaluate and integrate component level solutions into the totality of the tower system
Interact with the design teams on design activities
Generate plans for the overall tower system activities
Facilitate design reviews
Define and control interfaces
Participate proactively in cost reduction activities
Review and approve subsystem level documentation
Qualifications/Requirements:
Diploma or Masters of Science in mechanical, electrical, civil or naval engineering
Minimum 5 years engineering in related fields
3+ years of systems design and configuration
Wind turbine technology system experience
Strong verbal and writing presentation and persuasion skills
Excellent technical skills and curiosity
Execution focused and positive can do attitude
Fluent English language skills
Green Belt Certified (GE Internal only)
Desired Characteristics:
3+ year?s experience in offshore projects
Knowledge in mechanical and electrical packaging
Ability to work in a matrix team environment.
Product or project management experience
German, Norwegian, Swedish language skills
