Role Summary/Purpose
The role-holder will lead portions of the wind turbine controls system design, validation and optimization for the offshore wind turbine platform. He/she will be responsible to optimize the control system including the PLC for individual turbine and wind parks.
Essential Responsibilities
The Controls&Operability System Engineer will be responsible for and own:
Design Memos to specify component and software requirements i.e. on
• Safety chain
• PLC/Control specification for HW and SW
• SCADA system
• Wind Farm Management System
• Control System manuals and documentation
• Operator interface, like panels and remote devices
Guide the development of fault handling procedures
• Develop physics based parameter settings for optimized availability
• Develop and implement software validation requirements and approval process, including compatibility checks including backwards compatibility to previous products
• Optimization of the turbine and plant level control and SCADA
• Controls related reliability allocations and improvements for the wind turbine and farm
• Synchronize control algorithms across multiple utilization like systems simulations and code development
