What you'll get to do
We're seeking an experienced Nuclear Safety & Licensing Engineer to join our Nuclear Engineering & Safety team in Stockholm. In this role, you will develop and document the safety case for our lead-cooled fast reactor designs with the application of safety assessment methodologies, perform requirement interpretation based on national and international safety standards, and support regulatory interactions to ensure our SMRs meet the highest level of nuclear safety throughout design, licensing, and deployment.
Develop and maintain the safety case for our cutting-edge lead-cooled fast reactor designs
Identify and classify safety functions, systems, structures, and components in line with defense-in-depth principles
Prepare licensing documentation, safety analysis reports, and technical submittals for regulatory review
Support interactions with nuclear regulators (e.g. SSM, DOE or NRC) throughout the licensing process
Stay current with advances in safety methodologies, regulatory requirements, and international standards

The Nuclear Safety & Licensing Engineer sits in the Nuclear Engineering & Safety team within Blykalla, and reports to the manager of Nuclear Engineering & Safety. We are a diverse team that is passionate about our work and our company.
Who you are
You will be part of a highly skilled team with a can-do attitude. We value personal chemistry and strive to create a workplace where you enjoy coming to. There are however a few things that we think will help for you to succeed in this role, these are:
Master's degree in engineering, physics, or related field
5-10 years of experience in nuclear safety analysis, licensing, or reactor safety engineering for any commercial reactor types
Familiarity with safety assessment methodologies including deterministic safety analysis, PSA, and hazard identification
Strong understanding of reactor safety principles, defense-in-depth, and accident phenomenology
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (SSM, NRC, IAEA, or equivalent) and licensing processes
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills
Fluency in English, spoken and written
Meritorious skills:
Fluency in Swedish, spoken and written
