www.northern.net.Northern is expanding its Field Engineering team in Stockholm, Sweden with the addition of a Sales Engineer.
As a Sales Engineer you will contribute the technical ingredient of Northern’s sales activities; working in close cooperation with Nordic and European account managers you will manage the technical aspects of sales and delivery processes. The role includes technical pre-sales support, solution implementation and delivery of professional services. You will also be involved in promoting the company and its solutions as a technical evangelist.
Main responsibilities
• Provide subject matter expertise in a pre-sales capacity for prospects, partners and strategic business alliances on Northern’s software solutions and their associated eco-system integration.
• Responding to detailed RFI/RFPs.
• Participating in sales calls with sales representatives and meeting with prospects.
• Preparing and giving product demonstrations.
• Design and implementation of standard or customized solutions.
• Assist customer implementations and integration.
To be successful in this role you need to have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be comfortable in c-level meetings. As a person you are enthusiastic about technology and able to project that enthusiasm. You are creative in your approach to solution design. As we are an international company you need to be able to travel.

Required Skills
• Experience in customer-facing roles involving professional services and/or pre-sales
• Expertise in administration of Windows server operating systems
• Experience with Active Directory, VMWare, Virtual PC, Microsoft SQL
• Understanding of different network topologies including DR, cluster, DFS and multi-domain configurations.
• Fluent in English, spoken and written. Other languages are beneficial.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with EMC and NetApp IP storage solutions is beneficial
• Experience with VB scripting and SQL Reporting Services is beneficial
• Familiar with the importance of CRM systems
