The main purpose and responsibilities of this position are to ensure that all VAT returns and associated statistical returns for the Siemens businesses in the Nordic region are filed and paid on time. Further to drive and implement a standardized VAT compliance process in the Nordic region, including reviews and audits. Drive, standardize and simplify structure in the area of tax technology and processes with regards to VAT as well as CIT and TP for Siemens in the Nordic region.


Examples of VAT key responsibilities

1. Processes and Systems

* Develop, drive and implement a standardized Nordic compliance process for delivering VAT reporting and related services to Siemens businesses in the region. Identify and implement areas for process simplification.
* Support the tax organization in how to classify products in the master data of SAP, from a VAT perspective as well as update and monitor relevant condition tables in SAP.
* Be responsible for providing updates and advice in relation to processes impacting VAT, such as electronic invoicing, records retention and for various supply and sourcing specific solutions.

2. VAT Compliance and Controls

* Ensuring that all VAT returns and associated statistical returns for client businesses are filed and paid on time.
* Assist in planning a programme of risk-based audits/reviews of Siemens business VAT return processes. These reviews should assess VAT compliance capabilities, technical VAT issues and should also seek to identify VAT risks and potential VAT savings, as well as quality and content in the returns to ensure accuracy of filings.
* Oversee the correction of any current process breakdowns identified.
* Provide regular reviews on the underlying data in VAT returns filed, to make sure errors are found and mitigated.
* Work with Head of Tax to resolve any inaccuracies identified during return cycle or audit programme
* Sign-off of SOX controls, if applicable.
* Provide audit support to Head of Tax during inspections and audits by the tax authorities in the region.

3. Business Support

* Monitor incoming and outgoing business flows in the Nordic region, to ensure these are captured correctly in the VAT compliance process.
* Provide feedback to Siemens businesses on issues identified and progress to be made to drive up standards in VAT reporting.

Examples of general key responsibilities

* Preparing material for meetings and collecting relevant information for internal and external meetings such as Group Tax Committee (or similar), this includes Tax litigation, Tax risk map etc.
* General support for Head of Tax and the tax department for the Nordic region
* Proactively identify and monitor risk, compliance and opportunities and suggest solutions for improvements
* Tax accounting tools and processes - Drive and assist in implementation of new tools and processes in the Nordic region to ensure compliance.
* Review and analyse TP transaction data in the light of the underlying pricing model.

Who are you?

* You enjoy working in a team and have good communication skills
* You are driven and take own initiatives
* You are analytical and can handle large amounts of data
* You have more than 3 years of experience from a similar role (either from finance or tax dept)
* You have deep knowledge in VAT/Tax
* You have experience in working with SAP and Excel
* You have a Bachelor of law or similar
* You are fluent in Swedish and English
