Your main responsibilities will be to drive and implement the standard Global VAT process structure in Siemens, to identify and mitigate potential VAT risks/liabilities in the Nordic region and evaluate the impact of future legislative changes to Siemens businesses in the Nordic region. Further, to provide VAT advice and to support both the Siemens tax organisation as a whole as well as the local Nordic Siemens businesses.
The challenge:
• Support the Nordic Head of Tax in respect of new acquisitions, reorganisations and historical challenges in the region.
• Identify and mitigate potential VAT risks and liabilities in the region.
• Provide on request expert technical advice to any Siemens business.
• Closely monitor changes to EU and Nordic VAT legislations as well as legislation in the area of energy and other duties such as chemical tax, in order to evaluate their impact on Siemens businesses.
• Keep Nordic businesses informed of legislative and case law developments that impact on their activities.
• Arrange regular calls and discussions with relevant stakeholder in the local businesses, to gain an update on developments within their business effecting VAT, deal with upcoming issues, share ideas and refine agreement on division of responsibilities between the businesses and the Nordic Tax team.
• Provide VAT trainings to relevant stakeholders when necessary.
• Act as the primary Siemens VAT contact point towards the Swedish (mainly) but also the tax authorities.
• Actively representing Siemens in various local VAT network, maintaining and develop links with external VAT resources with a view to identifying cost reduction possibilities and establishing 'best' practices.
• Responsible for ensuring the VAT activities in the Nordics is also in line with Corporate Tax, Global - Indirect Tax and local/regional objectives.
• Drive VAT efficiency and quality programs.
• Develop and lead a proactive program of VAT reviews. These reviews should assess VAT compliance capabilities, technical VAT issues and should also seek to identify VAT risks and potential VAT savings.
Who are you?
• You enjoy working in a team and have good communication skills
• You are proactive, driven and capable to identify required actions
• You enjoy working in a changing environment
• You have more than 5 years of experience from a similar role in a larger company or a Consultancy firm
• You have deep knowledge in EU- and Nordic VAT-legislation
• You have a Bachelor of Law or similar
• You are fluent in Swedish and English
