Nordic Nuclear Trainee Program
Nordic Nuclear Trainee Program (NNTP) is a unique opportunity for young talents. The program will give extensive skills and training for young nuclear professionals who are in the early stage of their career, and it will also offer a great possibility to build networks among nuclear professionals in the Nordic countries. Nordic Nuclear Trainee Program is the kickstart of your career within Vattenfall. You are being offered a permanent employment and on top of that you will have the opportunity to develop your professional and personal skills over the course of 15 months. In the Nordic Nuclear Trainee Program you will take part in workshops and site visits during the seminar weeks. Between the seminar weeks, work rotations and project assignment, you will work with your colleagues in a regular position in the organization. Each position comes with a competitive salary and an excellent remuneration package.
Every trainee position is linked to a department within a specific business area and a working location. This means that each position has its own specific responsibilities and challenges and matching profile.

Your responsibilities as a Radiation Physicist
You will be a part of the Radiation physics group at the department of Health Physics and Operational Protection at Ringhals. Several areas of expertise are included in the Radiation physics group. These include radioactive waste handling and clearance, radiological emergency preparedness, monitoring and analysis of radioactive emissions, environmental radiology, dosimetry and radiation protection and source term assessments. The radiation physics group provides expert knowledge and support in all these areas, in matters concerning both operations and decommissioning at Ringhals.
Key responsibilities:
• Perform whole body counting measurements and internal dose calculations
• Monitoring, calculating and reporting on radioactive emissions to the air and waters.
• Work as an instructor on, and help develop, courses on radiation protection and emergency preparedness.
• Perform nuclide specific measurements in the facility, on radioactive waste, or for clearance, and to analyses and report on the results.
• Nuclide specific monitoring of emissions from the powerplant
• Produce, assess, and keep up to date nuclide vectors to be used for clearance and transports.

Your profile
Whether you want a climate smarter career as a specialist, visionary manager or inspirational project lead in the nuclear industry, we offer you these possibilities within the Nordic Nuclear Trainee Program. We are looking for recent graduates holding a Master 's Degree of Science, with a maximum of 2 years' work experience from the nuclear industry. You are fluent in Swedish and English. Furthermore, you are willing to relocate for possible assignments throughout the organization. Of course you identify yourself with our principles: active, open, positive and safe.

You recognize yourself in the following qualifications:
• Degree of Master of Science in Medical Physics, Engineering physics or similar
• Well organized and quality minded
• Very good interpersonal skills
• Very good collaborative and initiative ability
You also have good collaborative and initiative ability, this is important because you will collaborate with both internal and external contacts within Ringhals.

The last step will be a pre-employment screening. Starting date of the Nordic Nuclear Program will be on September 27th 2022.
