hela Sverige Visa alla jobb hos Amerikanska Ambassaden i Stockholm Performs full range of visa processing work including intake, reviewing applications, performing data entry, capturing photos and fingerprints, and printing visas. Has joint responsibility to ensure that all applications are received, entered, and processed according to a relatively complicated set of laws and procedures so that the Consular Officer can make decisions and ensure that the legal requirements of the application have been met. Responsible for making sure that inquiries received by e-mail and through Atlas are answered promptly, courteously, and correctly Assists in Immigrant Visa unit as needed.
a. Education:
Secondary school degree required.
b. Prior work experience:
One year of office work with high level of responsibility or six months of U.S. Embassy experience, or three months of consular-related work. Prior experience with computers.
d. Language proficiency:
Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required.
Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing Swedish is required.
e. Knowledge:
Knowledge of Swedish society, customs, legal, and social systems as well as of relevant U.S. laws and regulations. Knowledge of nonimmigrant visa laws and processing regulations, including security clearance requirements. Knowledge of consular visa computer systems, software and hardware.
f. Skills and abilities:
Ability to organize each day in an effective manner based on the workload at hand. Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and chronology as well as to be flexible when required to drop the task at hand in order to assist officers with pressing matters. Ability to identify customer information needs and explain clearly the essentials of complex regulations. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Ability to draft correspondence responsive to individual cases by adapting form documents and precedent sample letters to the specific conditions of the case in hand. Good judgment in evaluating information for possible fraud. Ability to identify priority cases that require special handling.
