Platform Development is a function within Global Product Development at Volvo Buses which is responsible for platform development, architecture, project management and test. As a Node Owner you will be a part of the Electrical & Electronics Development department with its mission to develop, test and verify the electrical system through concept phases up to serial production and maintenance while optimizing demands on quality, deliveries, cost and features all over the world.
Together with your team mates you will be responsible for the development and introduction of new software and Hardware in Volvo system for Central Bus Electronic Control Units (ECU). We have an exciting future ahead of us with new electrical architecture and high demand for features like Connected Services and Active Safety such as Autonomous Drive.

Role description
You will play an important role in the development of new functionality for Electronic Control Units (ECU). We are a small team so there is a great opportunity in getting responsibility and to influence. The role requires frequent communication with colleagues regarding specifications, functionality and diagnostics. Depending on the current project portfolio and project phases, the focus for your work will vary but your main responsibilities within the role is to:
• Participate in development of hardware and software with our suppliers and act as a contact person for them
• Translate Functional Description from Electrical Architect into Technical Requirements for software
• Contribute in integration and testing of functionality in Buses
• Coordinate and introduce new SW/HW in Volvo system
• Resolve quality issues in projects or in factory for Electronic Control Unit
The Electrical and Electronics Development department is a global department which requires cooperation and traveling between our sites in Sweden, Poland, Mexico and Brazil.

Who are you?
We want you that like to solve problems together with and through others. To be successful in this job we believe that you are structured and like to take a coordinating role. You also have experience from working with embedded systems. We are striving to continuously be better and better- therefore you are expected to take an active part in our improvement work.
But most of all you have an inclusive mindset. You have a strong customer focus, you communicate fluently in English and you love to be part of a team where we take own initiatives and take pride in your own and the team's deliveries.
If you have the stuff listed below as well, that would be great. However these are only preferable:
• Master or Bachelor of Science in electronics, data or similar
• Experience from SW-development in the automotive industry
• Knowledge from working with CAN and LIN communication
• Experienced in interpreting wiring schematics and electrical function specifications
• Knowledge of Volvo Group processes and tools such as KOLA,SW-Configurator, CANalyzer, TSP, Protus, Engineering Tool
• ISO26262 knowledge
