We're looking for a Network Programmer, the first of your kind at Toca Boca! You will join a new cross-discipline team to build our first real time multiplayer game. This is a chance to really make an impact and build multiplayer functionalities from the ground up.
We're looking for a Network Programmer who:
Loves toys and games.
Is passionate about creating mobile games.
Have shipped one or more real-time multiplayer games
Have experience of mobile and multi-platform experience, preferably having shipped multiple titles including one or more AAA game titles
Has strong maths skills and programming skills
Experience working with Unity 3D or other 3D game engines
Has the ability to identify the risks, dependencies and priorities in a project.
Pays attention to details, is curious and takes pride in their work.
Is an excellent team player focused on the overall team goals rather than individual tasks.
Is fluent in written and spoken English.
What you will be doing:
Choosing real-time persistent multiplayer network solutions
Researching and implementing multiplayer infrastructure and game mechanics
Take ownership of features in your area from start to finish, including pre-production planning, prototyping, architecture, profiling, maintenance
Collaborate across teams with server teams and dev ops on integration approaches
Coach, inspire and mentor junior members in the team
Optimize techniques and implementations for both mobile and console platforms
Proactively pinpoint technical and developmental risks and generate solutions to overcome them

You'll be working with a team of artists and developers that come to the office excited to learn new things every day.
We work in small teams of 6-10 people, which means everyone is an important contributor in the project and has a shared responsibility for what the toy becomes.
This position is full time and based in our Stockholm office. We apply 6 months probationary employment.
