Natural Science and Math teacher immediately
Internationella Engelska Gymnasiet Södermalm, IEGS, is an independent upper-secondary school conveniently located on Södermalm, just two minutes from Skanstull T-bana and five minutes from Stockholm Södra Station. The school accommodates around 720 students, studying on either one of seven Swedish Gymnasium programmes or the globally recognised and accredited International Baccalaureate. Offering programmes of specialist study in Natural Science, Social Science, Aesthetics, Economics and Humanities, IEGS strives for academic excellence, retains an international profile, and clear commitment to preparing students for higher education by ensuring that all lessons (with the exception of Swedish, Languages and Law) are delivered in English.
We are currently looking to appoint a teacher to teach Natural Science and Math courses within the school, with a particular focus on working with students who are undertaking Level 1 courses in both subjects. The ability to teach students who are still making the intellectual transition between grade nine and gymnasium would also be advantageous and complement the existing range of experiences of within the Science and Math departments at IEGS. Further, the ability to enthuse students who have not chosen a Natural Science profile in these curriculum areas would also be very advantageous. In addition to this academic role, all teachers at IEGS act as mentors (approximately 16 students maximum) and act as facilitators within the schools dynamic and unique ?house system?, modelled closely on that utilised in many English schools.
