Näringslivets internationella råd (NIR) söker projektledare

The International Council of Swedish Industry (NIR) is looking for a Program Manager to join our team. The position is part of a new initiative launched in January 2019, the Swedish Workplace Program (SWP).

The SWP is a partnership model that uses social dialog at the workplace to promote decent work and support development of sustainable business. The program builds on 14 years of experience from already existing workplace programs (SWHAP) and a network of over 500 workplaces in Sub-Saharan Africa. The SWP will run for four years (2019-2022) in Africa, Asia, MENA and Latin America. As a Program Manager at NIR, you are based in Stockholm and report to the SWP Program Director. You will be part of formulating and developing the new program during the inception phase in 2019. The SWP program is a partnership between NIR and the Swedish Metalworkers' Union (IF Metall) and is funded by Sida, Stockholm.

We believe the suitable candidate has at least 5 years' experience of program management in international development, including practical experience of results-based management (RBM). Experience with private sector development and project management in the private sector are strong assets, as is knowledge of social dialog, labour market and workplace programs.

This role will demand proven project management skills, but also a high level of self-guidance, initiative and flexibility. Your tasks will include managing the project activities, timelines, budget and resource allocation. You will also have an important role in coordinating our international team members. In addition, you will be part of developing the program. Your interpersonal skills will be important as the position requires a strong ability to communicate results and interact with a wide variety of people.

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Swedish are required and knowledge of French, Spanish or other languages is a great advantage. Travel to program countries will be required.

The International Council of Swedish Industry (NIR) works with a long-term perspective to create conditions for Swedish companies to operate in challenging markets. NIR is a member organization, consisting of several of the largest Swedish multinational companies. We work to improve conditions for economic development in markets which are of interest to our members, among other things by strengthening the capacity of local private sector and institutions. We implement projects in Asia, MENA, Latin America and Africa.

Contract length: One year project contract with the possibility of extension.

Apply for the position by sending your CV and motivation letter to info@nir.se no later than 21 January, 2019. Read more about NIR at www.nir.se or contact our office at +46 8 783 82 64. For inquiries about the role, please refer to Program Director Alessandra Cornale.
