Publiceringsdatum2013-06-12ArbetsuppgifterThe International School of Älmhult has grown rapidly since it opened in 2000 and has a current population of over 135 students. Situated in Älmhult in southern Sweden it is a state school with support from Ikea of Sweden for the teacher's professional development. The local area, which has a population of approx. 15 600, is peaceful and situated in an attractive area with nearby lakes and forests. The provincial town of Växjö is easily reached by either rail or road, as are other large cities in the region and the Continent. The school was authorised for The International Baccalaureate's Primary Years Programme in May 2003 and for The Middle Years Programme in May 2009. The school is international and has a friendly atmosphere. The classes are small and all teaching is in English.
The tasks for this post will be to:
• teach MYP students, age 11-16 years, in adequate subjects. Subjects we might require: Swedish, English, Visual Arts, Spanish, mathematics, computer techonology, special needs (to support ESL students)
• to undertake all teaching responsibilities as outlined by IBO and the school.
• attend all meetings.
• complete documentation as required.
• possibly hold mentorship in a MYP class.
KvalifikationerThe successful applicant will:
• need a high level of education and or a degree in an appropriate subject.
• have appropriate experience with IBO.
• have attended IBO courses.
• have relevant teaching qualifications.
• have relevant teaching experience.
• have excellent spoken and written English.
• be an excellent, flexible, effective communicator.
• need to respond to the needs of a changing team within a changing workplace.
• must be excited by the development of the school and need to part in the continued development of systems and protocols that will ensure the smooth running of the school.
• need independent thinking to make good decisions throughout the process of change
Arbetstider och omfattningHeltid / deltid. Dagtid. Tidsbegränsad anställning, tillträde: 2013-08-08 The posts will start as from autumn term, August 8th 2013., upphör: 2-4 teaching posts, depending on internal decisions, fulltime or parttime. Positions start on August 8th 2013.
ErsättningMånadslön Individual salary level according to qualifications and merits. Monthly salary.
