Mycronic R&D is improving process and organization in order to meet our future challenges on efficiency, project portfolio delivery and quality. Job description
As Manager Mechanical Engineering, you are responsible to deliver Mechanical components and systems to the related products achieving the targets regarding quality, cost, features and delivery time. You will be managing a team of highly competent engineers, where flexibility is built in through the use of external consultants. The size of the team is determined based on the current project portfolio needs. As manager you will be responsible to plan and manage the competence, balance towards the portfolio and lead activities to find creative solutions and deliver on time. The department should strive to find efficient solutions, based on modularity with the possibility of re-use between the products when applicable.

Responsibilities
• Develop and provide quality assured technical solutions, based on system requirements.
• Develop competencies within Mechanical engineering development to deliver the complete project portfolio.
• Drive Mechanical engineering development synergies and commonality across the product platforms long term as well as short term.
• Develop and execute technical solutions to satisfy the need for modularity and reuse.
• Responsible for the department's competence growth to support the long term needs.
• Drive standards and use of design guidelines within the platform area.
• Owner of the design solutions and maintenance throughout the life cycle.
• Development and maintenance of relevant development tools according to the tools strategy
Qualifications
We prefer that you have a university degree and a few years of management experience. Experience in mechanical engineering, modularization and systems integration and verification is an advantage but not a requirement. Experience from Process Management and/or Change Management will enable you to master the role quickly. If you have experience of off-shore, outsourcing- and/or partnership projects it will be an advantage for you. Your industry experience may vary, but should preferably be from a big sized company with international operations and connections/partnerships. The role also requires that you have good English skills, both orally and in writing.
