Module Team Director - Rotating and Structural Parts
Powertrain Engineering is responsible for the development of transmissions and electric propulsion systems and the controls associated with these systems. The Mechanical Propulsion System unit is responsible for the development of new global transmissions from the early concept phase to industrialization, for conventional, hybrid and electric drivelines. These transmissions will be the main technology for the Geely group. The development is carried out by several parties inside Geely group as well as by external contractors.
As Module Team Director for the rotating and structural parts, you will be responsible to lead and develop a team, set up process and deliver technologies in a given time and budget frames.
You will report to the Vice President Mechanical Propulsion Systems.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Be overall responsible with global functional lead of the technology development when it comes to rotating and structural parts within given timeframe and cost frame
- Lead and develop technology strategies in the field of rotating and structural parts
- Evaluate and sign-off technical concepts and solutions for modules within defined requirements and defined targets (cost, package, weight, ...)
- Manage and execute releases for modules and systems, including ECN sign-off
- Execute change management during the whole lifecycle for modules and systems
- Develop and maintain commonality across different projects
- Employee lifecycle responsibility for direct reports including recruitment, performance and competence development. Provide coaching and guidance to employees to ensure deliveries and personal development.
- Employer responsibility including salary setting, work environment responsibility and union negotiation for the department.
- Set and follow up targets for the department
- Contribute to the management team for the function unit
- Build up, develop and long term secure the needed competence, capacity and working processes within the module team
Requirements
- Technical experience in the field of transmission
- At least ten years of experience in automotive industry
- Leadership skills with ability to inspire, drive, motivate and coach direct reports; leaders and/or employees.
- Ability to build high performing and diverse team with a strong team spirit.
- Cultural awareness and interest in diversity
- A flexible mindset with ability to lead change and development and take decisions
- A creative and analytical mindset to handle complex problems
- Ability to communicate clearly and be perceptive
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to combine strategic mindset with operational work
