Going from conventional combustion engines, to battery powered vehicles, focus increases on thermal management for critical components powering our machines. Systems which has been separated in machines with conventional drivelines, need to support each other in battery powered vehicles. This will lead to more and deeper co-operation cross different functions in the organisation.
The area of thermal management is in a very expansive point in time with a need of new development to take place. We hope you want to join us in our journey building tomorrow towards zero emission machines!
We are therefore currently seeking personnel within the area of thermal management, to help us develop systems and components which will create correct operating thermal conditions for the different stakeholders
You have a genuine interest in HVAC systems or Thermal Management and you have experience in some of the listed technical fields below. You are up for almost any challenge and enjoy exciting and various assignments. What you don't know when starting your assignment, you are willing to learn.
Key responsibilities will be specifications and design of components needed, which builds our future thermal systems, including AC compressor, heat exchangers, Valves like coolant valves,TXW coolant valves and other parts in the system.
In the role, you will work in a team with dedicated engineers. Together with the team you will drive your areas within new projects and product maintenance. The work will consist of specifying technical requirements and installation requirements for your responsibility area. You will also be responsible for creating the design solutions which meet all stakeholder needs, such as quality targets, cost targets, commonality targets, and service and maintainability aspects. When needed, you will also be part of verifying the solutions, so they fulfil required specification.
Since the systems and components are dependent on SW and control, another area of your work will be to be a part of development of such functionality. This will be done together with dedicated teams working with SW development and implementation
The solutions you are responsible for, will be found in multiple Volvo CE machines manufactured in several regions. Working in a global environment will be part of your daily work
In order to be successful in this role, we believe you need to be a team player who wants to take ownership of your areas. The team is there to support. Tools like CAD/PLM you already have experience from. You have a M.Sc or a B.Sc, in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent qualification with experience in relevant areas.
