About the company
CorPower Ocean is a young and fast growing start-up company founded in 2009. We have developed a compact high-efficiency Wave Energy Converter inspired by the pumping principles of the human heart. Our method has shown great results with five times higher annual energy output per ton of device compared to previously known technology.
We are currently in a pilot program where we will take a half scale Wave Energy Converter through dry testing in a rig in Stockholm in 2016, followed by ocean testing during 2017 in Scotland.

We are now looking for an ambitious person with relevant modelling experience to join our international team of approximately 20 members. Do you want to take a key role in the development of wave energy?

Working at CorPower
At CorPower you will find a dynamic work environment with a team of highly motivated and skilled individuals. Each team member works with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility, combined with great personal responsibility. We offer a supportive and fun environment. Having shown game-changing performance, expectations are high and your work will be closely watched from around the world.

Responsibilities
• Perform batch simulations and analyse the data and results to report
• Data analysis from experimental tests and other big data sets
• Automation of data processing
• Model calibration and validation with measured data
• Manage modelling activities with regard to performance
• Study hydrodynamic performance of the buoy
• Investigate the system with sensitivity analysis
• Optimize performance with parameter optimisation
• Engineering calculations, including responsibility for 3rd party verification
• Supporting pilot installations in the field with implementing control

Skills and qualifications
You may have a B.Sc. or a M.Sc. degree in engineering (mechanical, energy, offshore), physics, math (numerical background) or related disciplines. You have relevant experience in time domain numerical modelling, good programming skills (Matlab and Simulink) and data analysis. You are familiar with numerical analysis and automation of data analysis. You have a strong analytical mind, broad technical knowledge and genuine interest in modelling, machines and ocean energy. Your personality, experience and interest in the field is the most important. You have a strong work ethic and you are a team player. You are proficient in English, both spoken and written.

Other skills that would be relevant; experience from model validation with measured data from experimental data from test-rig tests and hydrodynamic data from tank testing. Other programming languages and relevant software (WAMIT, Orcaflex, WEC-Sim.)

As a person:
• you are striving for excellence, put quality into everything you do
• you are self-motivated and hate to waste time
• you always search for the most simple and elegant solutions to difficult problems
• you love to learn new things, and take pride in constantly developing your skills and sector knowledge
