hela Sverige Ubisoft Massive is looking for experienced level designers to help create and populate the world for a MMO. Positions are available for senior and non-senior designers, giving successful candidates a unique opportunity to join the growing team of a large and exciting project.
We are interested both in candidates who want to specialize in a specific role (and become responsible for it within the team), and those who prefer to keep their skill-base wide, tackling a variety of tasks to keep things interesting.
About the position:
As a level designer at Massive, you'll be working in close-knit, multi-discipline teams focused on creating a compelling long-term player experience from the ground up, responsible for building and populating a large world using both in-house editing tools and commercial 3D packages.
You as a candidate:
You are a self-motivated, experienced level designer with both world-building and game scripting experience, with an eye for detail and strong communication skills. You should be comfortable working in a variety of tools, and able to quickly adapt to new development methods. As a designer, you're able to take direction and handle critical feedback, but are also willing to give the same in turn.
Required skills and experience:
• Understanding of modern 3D engine technology and tools
• Experience using game-specific editing packages such as UnrealEd, Radiant, Hammer, etc.
• Game scripting experience using Lua, Kismet, or similar
• One or more shipped AAA tiles credited as a level designer, or a strong portfolio of relevant work
• Proven ability to work within a team to meet deadlines, achieve or exceed delivery criteria and respect technical guidelines and constraints
• Ability to communicate design concepts using either traditional art skills or commonly-used visualization tools
Additional bonus experience:
• Experience using commercial 3D applications such as Maya or 3DS Max
• Demonstrable knowledge of architectural design, urban planning, or similarly related topics
• Experience working on a massively-multiplayer or large-scale, open world game project
