Volvo Group Design provides design to products, digital solutions and services for the whole Group from one of our three studios in Gothenburg, Sweden, Lyon, France or Greensboro NC, US.
The model team of 29 people, where we have both digital and physical modelers. We are now looking for a milling operator to join us at Lundby, Gothenburg.

THIS IS HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT

In this role your main responsibility will be to secure all work regarding milling preparation. For instance, programming our Kolb milling machine and ensure the quality of the outcome.
You will be involved in setting the right priorities and securing the right support to grant an organized and efficient result.
To achieve the desired outcome, you will also prepare digital models before the milling. You will work closely with our designers as well as our technical colleagues to create 3D physical models to visualize the proposed appearance of the product.
In the spirit of collaboration, you will also help the physical modelers team with other tasks when needed.

We believe that you, are new colleague, have a great understanding about the clay model process to be able to plan the milling accordingly.
We also value someone who is a creative problem solver that likes to experiment with different methods to come up with the most optimal result.

An ability to plan your own work.

Preferably you have an engineering degree.

Requirements
Experience in geometry engineering
Experience from 3 or 5 axis milling machine & Tebis is a merit
Fluent in English, written and spoken

Beneficial
Proficiency with creating physical prototype in close collaboration with design
Experience from 3D printing & software
Experience from clay modelling process
Industrial design experience

In this position you will report to the Group Manager Models & Visualization and be placed in Gothenburg.
