FPC is a leader in the development of capacitive fingerprint sensors and designs the whole system, from advanced custom silicon devices and microelectronic packages, to algorithms and software for fingerprint recognition and applications on the target devices. Our R&D organization is growing to meet the demands from our customers and to expand the usage of our sensor products. In order to secure that our products continue to have the right quality we are looking for an additional development engineer to focus on the reliability of FPCs microelectronic packages.

 The Role

You will be a part of the qualification team, within R&D Microelectronic Packaging group, which also consists of packaging development and coating development.

 Typical work tasks can be reliability testing on fingerprint sensor IC/packages/modules. You are expected to perform relevant reliability tests to meet product specifications and failure analysis as needed. You will also support new package development in terms of reliability testing and prequalification.

 You support the product development projects to reach mass production with:

• Planning of qualification tests according to project requirements
• Following up on qualification status and reporting to project managers
• Internal and external test reports and documentation for customers

You adapt internal qualification plans to meet requirements from customers for new products. You can also be involved in qualifying new fab site, new product material, or new business partners, etc, in terms of product reliability. Working in the lab is from time to time needed when e.g. performing ESD test or operating climate chamber, etc.You are expected to have good communication skills. The role requires communicating with all parts of the organization in terms of reliability support as well as communication with suppliers, outsourced testing houses and partners. International business trips might occur.The work location is Gothenburg. 

Your Background

•  Electronics, Chemistry or Physics Master's degree, or equivalent
• Microelectronic packaging work experience, practical experience within reliability testing from school or from other work experiences is a plus
• Good knowledge of semiconductor packaging is plus
• Good knowledge about reliability standards, eg. ISO, JEDEC, etc.
• Fluent English in speaking and writing
• Knowledge in Chinese or other languages is a plus
