Job Description

You will be a part of the global procurement team for Pump Business line, leading procurement activities across all worldwide factories related to Pumps. This position will mainly be responsible for castings.

Global Category Managers are responsible to lead the global strategic sourcing and procurement direction, implement and execute sourcing plans and effectively manage the category overall sourcing activities. This position is responsible for maximizing supplier performance and supporting Metsos Pump Business line strategy.

Key tasks and responsibilities are:

* Develop and work with continuous improvements on the purchasing strategy for the global category.
* Identify and qualify new vendors in close cooperation with various procurement and quality assurance functions at Pump sites globally.
* Identify and engage global internal stakeholders to capture requirements to meet business needs for quality, OTD and cost.
* Lead key supplier negotiations to improve supply chain performance, responsible for lower total costs and mitigate risks. Responsible for procurement savings and operational performance of suppliers.
* Support and be the global escalation point to all Pump factories and their local procurement and quality functions for suppliers within the category.
* Identify opportunities and initiate strategic supply agreement and contract signings with new or existing vendors.
* Responsible for supplier compliance with applicable laws & regulations and Metso policies and guidelines including HSE, Supplier Code of Conduct etc. Preparation of data and analysis for contract negotiations and pricing discussion. (e.g., spend analysis, research market and industry conditions, and collect forecast data on volumes).
* Participate in development and implementation of various local sourcing strategies considering current and future requirements in Product Development, Quality and Manufacturing.

Requirements

We see that you have a minimum of a Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field of education. Minimum of 5-10 years working experience in global sourcing or procurement environment. You have a strong business mindset and good understanding of global corporate settings and organizations.

You should have strong communication skills and strong customer focus with ability to balance quality, delivery and price equation.

You are a team player and enjoys working in a cross-functional and multi-cultural environment with high expectations on results.

Being comfortable working in ERP systems (SAP) and procurement IT tools (Sievo) is of merit as well as being able to handle and analyze data from Excel. Presenting business cases using PowerPoint is common. Being fluent in the English language is a must.

Business travel is a natural part of this position and applicants must be able to travel 25-50 days a year.
