At the department Research & Development - Measurement Methods in Fagersta, we work with measurement technology in a global environment. We're constantly working on new challenges to measure all of Seco's products with both existing and new measurement systems, and we want you to become one of us! Are you our new Metrology Engineer?
Briefly about the job
You're overall responsible for supporting our product- and knowledge development processes within geometrical metrology, and the usage of metrology techniques in our production lines. You initiate and manage the needs and requirements of new and advanced metrology techniques and you review and improve engineering methods, tools and processes within your area of expertise. To share your knowledge, interacting with colleagues and stakeholders is an important part of your job, and you monitor suppliers, competitors, and trends to ensure that we keep a joint development in line with our objectives. Additionally, you're globally accountable for some of our metrology systems, and you take an active part in projects and other development activities. Innovation is part of Seco Tools R&D strategy, and with that in mind, you always aim to find new exciting paths to go!
The location for this position is Fagersta. Traveling to meet suppliers, both in Sweden and abroad, is a natural part of your job.
Your background and personality
We're looking for someone with a few years' experience within engineering metrology, or extensive experience working as a measurement technician and are ready for the next career step. An understanding of programming structures, interfaces and automation strategies is beneficial, as well as an understanding of CAD methods. If you also have an AUKOM certificate we consider it a plus, as well as experience from MSA and Gage R&R. Your knowledge is backed by an engineering degree, preferably within machining. Working locally in a global company calls for good communication skills in both English and Swedish.
