Interested in joining the Data Enablement Office? Ericsson's Data Enablement Office (DEO) has developed a data strategy that will empower data users across the company! The data strategy envisions:
Democratize data and break down silos to enable seamless access to a broad data set
Create clear accountability for data and ensure focus on business-relevant use cases
Improve data quality to foster trust and reliability
This vision will be achieved through a data operating model that encompasses processes, roles & responsibilities, technology, tools and ways of working to help translate the data strategy into value creation.
A critical priority for Ericsson is to ensure that high-quality data is available to run our business and meet our customers' needs. The DEO was established to define a central data strategy and support core data used across Ericsson. The DEO works with the Business, Market Areas and Group Functions to deliver an effective operating model to ensure sound management of our data.
To drive this change, we are looking for a highly motivated and determined Metadata Expert who will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing enterprise business and technical metadata, including data dictionaries, data lineage and all associated metadata initiatives.
In this role, you will report directly to the Head of the Data Enablement Office and the position will be based out of Kista, Stockholm.
What you will do
Within the area of critical data elements
Manage and approve list of critical data elements (CDE)
Provide domains with guidelines, tools and support to identify and prioritize CDEs
Within business and technical metadata management
Establish, monitor and enforce business processes and standards for metadata (incl. transactional, master, derivative data management)
Define and maintain the list of common and specific metadata that need to be captured
Ensure compliance to metadata standards
Provide template for structuring business metadata (e.g., business definitions, security/access levels) and technical metadata (e.g., technical/physical data elements, lineage)
Manage demand for and approve changes to common and specific meta & master data (from data domains and from functions e. g. security and legal)
Manage demand for and approve new common and specific meta & master data (from data domains and from functions e. g. security and legal)
Ensure metadata changes and new metadata is added to the data catalog
Approve and sign-off metadata definitions/descriptions to CDEs developed by domains
Support in solving cross-data domain issues with metadata (e.g. multiple sources for the same CDE)
Support data users in having access to metadata
Within metadata tools
Manage an Ericsson-wide metadata catalog
Support selection and implementation of tools for meta & master data management
You will bring
Education: MSc, MEng or equivalent
Strong leadership experience in an enterprise or cross-functional role
Strong interpersonal communication and persuasion skills
Very strong familiarity with metadata issues, processes and common master data management tools
Experience in system data mapping and tracing
Experience defining, implementing and managing data glossaries/dictionaries
Strong project management leadership
Proven ability to coordinate cross functional teams of business, IT and other key stakeholders
