Mechanical and Electrical Designs
Review all design documentation (specifications, drawings, schedules etc) to gain working understanding of the systems
Prepare queries arising and resolve understanding with Cundall engineers
Site Inspections
Record site observations and progress
Raise and review site observations with GC/Subcontractor/OFCI vendors.
Raise and review snags and non-conformances with GC/Subcontractor/OFCI vendors.
Record on Snagging platform (BIM360 Field)
Reviewing & reporting compliance of site installations.
Reviewing & reporting the quality of site installations.
Assist with site design co-ordination queries with other disciplines, trades and system interfaces
Reviewing, monitoring and assisting with providing technical advice to resolve the contractors design queries (in liaison with Cundall engineers).
Attend formal site inspections of contractors installations
Attend site inspections with Facebook ICM to assist with design related queries
Attend site inspections with Facebook QA/QC to assist with design related queries
Formal Site Inspections & Witnessing testing
L1 Testing FWT - Review and familiarise with the documentation arising from tests to assist understanding
Equipment Delivered to Site - Provide support to Facebook ICM and QA/QC team where inspections of equipment are required. (Support role only)
Exhibit 32 - Inspection of contractor exhibit 32 installations. Record issues and Signoff in BIM360.
Benchmarks, Mock-ups & Samples - Inspection of contractor installations. Record issues and signoff in BIM360.
W1 Inspection - Attend where possible (based on time availability) and inspect the contractor installation for each type of service in each area. Record issues and signoff in BIM360.
W2 Inspection - Support ICM and QA/QC teams as required.
L2 Testing - Review pre-start up documentation.
L3 Testing - Represent the EOR to support the Cx team Equipment energisation & testing. (Support role only). Target to witness "first of kind" testing of each piece of equipment
L4 Testing - Represent the EOR to support the Cx team Functional Performance testing. (Support role only)
L5 Testing - Represent the EOR to support the Cx team Integrated Systems testing. (Support role only)
Inspect installations against contractor as built documentation and drawings.
Site meeting Attendance
Attend weekly EOR design team meeting
Attend weekly Discipline Meetings with Design Team, Client and Contractors
Attend weekly GC Progress Meeting
Attend weekly OFCI meeting
Attend site design co-ordination workshops
Attend weekly Cx meeting
Attend weekly Cx doc review and BIM360 Snag Mtg during project Cx stage (when set up)
Attend Cx meeting (3 days per week - TBC) during project Cx stage
Reporting
Update design team on CA phase progress during internal Design Team meetings
Record site progress with site diary and photographs
Monitor site progress against programme
Weekly site update reporting to the discipline lead and design manager.
Weekly Site Update report to the client team
A template report will be provided
General
Review and answer queries on site with aim to reduce RFIs being raised
Act as point of contact for Design Team site specific discipline related design/installation queries
Act as point of contact for DCD site specific discipline related design/installation queries
Act as point of contact for ICM Construction Managers & Project Engineers on site specific discipline related design/installation queries
Act as point of contact for FacOps site specific discipline related design/installation queries
Record and communicate lessons learned to the EOR design team for future phases and projects
Lead site visits from EOR office based engineering staff and junior engineers
Assist with design queries and site inspections required with the third-party Fire Engineering assessor
Assist with design queries and site inspections required with the third-party LEED assessor
Secondary Functions - Tasks where RE assists the Design Team
From time to time the resident engineer may be asked to assist on the following:
Review, comment on and Status Contractors & OFCI Vendors Technical Submittals
Review, comment on and Status Contractors & OFCI Vendors Installation ('Shop') drawings
Review, comment on and Status Contractors & OFCI Vendors Installation ('Shop') Schematics
Review, comment on and Status Contractors & OFCI Vendors commissioning, FWT and test script documentation.
Attend site BIM co-ordination meetings and approve proposed co-ordination via BIMCollab platform.
Attend site design co-ordination reviews/meetings with GC and Subcontractors
Attend site design co-ordination reviews/meetings with GC and OFCI Vendors
Attend site design co-ordination reviews/meetings with GC and CDP items
Support and assist the design team in production of Design Notes
