At AstraZeneca, we are seeking a Finance Manager to support the business agenda of BioPharmaceutical Medical's (BPM) global functions. The BPM organisation aims to ensure the best patient outcomes by providing healthcare decision-makers around the world with the evidence and confidence they need on AZ therapies.

You will be an integral part of BPM. This division covers both function and projects across AZ's core TAs for non-indication seeking activities which aims to optimise patient outcomes in medical practice. It is a role that will give you exposure from both a scientific and business perspective.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

* Collaborating closely with the BPM Finance Director, the Clinical Finance team, GFS, BPM teams, TA Finance teams and other stakeholders both globally and regionally to provide strategic challenge and financial support, you will shape proactive analysis by TA to understand how business decisions impact the long-term financial position of the BPM portfolio
* Act as the lead finance contact for the V&I Medical Team and the Strategy and Operations functions
* We will look to you to support the quarterly portfolio review process, providing insight and tracking the portfolio changes to deliver a consolidated view for all BPM TAs and ensure delivery to annual agreed targets
* You will present financial options and provide tangible insight to influence the strategy of BPM. Support new project opportunities, prioritising investment in projects, meeting TA spend targets will also be key objectives
* Project manage the Long Term Plan (LTP), Medium Term Plan (MTP), and Phased Budget forecasting cycles for BPM. Help prepare and take part in presentations to SVP BPM, EVP BBU and EVP V&I as part of this
* Monthly tracking vs financial target with variance analysis and commentary
* Take ownership of year end landing process; coordinate with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and landing success
* Look for opportunities to simplify and standardise processes and procedures wherever possible and share learning with wider finance
* You will also be involved with ad hoc analysis and business cases as they arise. This may include restructuring programs, target re-setting, cost-base analysis, the Transform Healthcare Delivery (THD) initiative, and supporting BPM improvement projects
* Support on AZ collaborations and alliances (working with collaboration finance and GPPM)

Minimum Requirements - Education and Experience

* Qualified finance professional with demonstrable post qualification experience (or equivalent)
* Experience working in a global pharmaceutical organisation. Understanding of the drug development life cycle and/or commercial aspects is preferred
* Experience working within a multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural team

* Strong Excel, PowerPoint and financial modelling skills
* Finance Business Partnering skills - ability to engage with non-finance professionals and distil complex financial viewpoints to promote understanding
* Ability to interact and engage with senior managers
* Project Management skills - to coordinate between stakeholders and ensure effective and timely delivery
