EMEA is one of three regions within Volvo Cars, responsible for overseeing all commercial activities in over 60 countries. The region has complete mandate over marketing communication, customer interaction, sales and service. It is an operational business unit with a clear focus on the customer, delivering sustainable growth and profitability.

EMEA is ultimately responsible for region and market performance - market earnings and sales targets, strengthening the commercial voice in the EMT, enabling, coordinating and supporting markets to deliver on targets. EMEA develops Volvo business through capturing and aggregating market perspectives and making sure that market requirements are brought up with central functions.







We are looking for a Media Manager!

The purpose of the role is building the Volvo Brand towards becoming the world's most progressive premium car brand, by driving strategies and processes to secure the quality of our media investments across the region and improve ROI

What you will do:

The EMEA brand communication strategy is based on an untraditional approach to media, by creating brand stories that go beyond traditional media channels and into editorial environments.

The main focus for this role will be to take strategic ownership of the full on- and off-line media landscape and develop strategies and recommendations to local EMEA markets to optimize ROI and support business targets. Furthermore, you will develop methods together with local markets for digital areas such as SEM, programmatic, influencer marketing and native advertising in order for the Volvo car brand to improve the quality of media investments.


* Take ownership of how to optimize a media mix involving editorial, PR focused content and native/influencer marketing, complemented with traditional on- and off-line placements
* Work with markets, media agencies, Global Marketing (GCE) and other stakeholders to develop EMEA media recommendations and work hands on with executions at identified campaigns or initiatives
* Inform campaign briefs with intelligence on consumer behavior and on- and off-line media insights for the relevant target groups
* Be the main contact to the media agency regarding media strategies, initiatives and budgets for the EMEA region
* Set up and own a method for campaign reporting and tracking to measure ROI and KPI's to inform the wider EMEA marketing community
* Work actively to identify cross-EMEA media opportunities and negotiate third party media deals
* Be a role model for the EMEA working culture of integrity and high engagement to deliver results according to expectation



What you will bring:

To be successful in this role you have a strong strategic mindset, excellent ability to structure complex challenges, strong analytical skills and a leadership style with focus on delivering. You need to communicate with clarity, be an active listener and convey points in a conceiving, inspiring and decisive manner. Also, you have brilliant presentations skills to be able to present with impact on executive level.


* Bachelor or Master's degree within Marketing, or similar level of education
* Significant experience of media planning and buying, as well as solid understanding of the mechanics of how to build a brand with all media tools available
* Quantitative analytical ability and communication skills, distilling large problems into actionable insights and outcomes
* Experience from agency side of media buying for global brands in an international context is preferable
* Project and stakeholder management experience, with the ability to proactively drive processes in a complex and ever changing environment
* Experience from international, multicultural and multifunctional environments
* Fluent English written and spoken
* Previous ASP budget responsibility
