Alfa Laval Energy Division is looking for a Mechanical Specialist, Electrolyzer and Fuel Cell Technologies. This position is based out of our Lund, Sweden location.

Background
The Energy Division is in a transformation to clean technologies with many new business opportunities and need to strengthen our team. Alfa Laval is active in the entire hydrogen value chain, where our heat transfer technologies are core components. Alfa Laval's proprietary technologies and heat transfer expertise, in combination with its global manufacturing capabilities, are essential to enable the acceleration of a hydrogen economy through our mission to facilitate affordable and efficient solutions at industrial scale. Together with our customers, we are now increasing our focus around innovative technologies for electrolyzer and fuel cell systems.
The Energy division is now looking for a Mechanical Specialist for electrolyzer and Fuel Cell Technologies.

About the job
We offer an interesting job opportunity within the Energy Division for you who enjoy working with key customers in a global market. You will be based in Lund and report to Head of Development for Electrolyzer and Fuel cell technologies.
As Mechanical Specialist, you will work with the development of heat exchangers and other components for the electrolyzer and fuel cell systems in an international context.
You will work mainly with clean technologies in project form in very close cooperation with our Development engineers, Application specialists and Laboratory technicians. In addition, you will interact with other Mechanical specialists as well as key customers.
Your primary focus will be on the structural mechanical design of the heat exchanger and other components for the electrolyzer and fuel cell systems. Understanding of high temperature influence will be an important ingredient in the work as well as and code interpretation for high temperature pressure vessel constructions.

Key tasks:
Early prognosis and analysis, analytical calculations, FE analysis, structural test specifications, evaluations, and problem-solving are all essential components of your daily tasks.
Code understanding for high temperature pressure vessel.
Stay up to date with relevant methodological developments, both internally and externally.
Engage as a dynamic contributor in development projects as part of a cross-functional team, with structural mechanics as your domain of expertise.


Who you are
To thrive in the role, you are passionate about clean technologies and to make a difference through technology and innovation. As a person you are positive, customer driven with a target-oriented mindset as well as a solution-oriented team player.
We are looking for someone who has a solid interest in calculation and simulation with good knowledge of mechanics and strength theory. We see that you are basically a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Technical physics or equivalent, with a focus on calculation and simulation. You are analytical and you find it easy to come up with hypotheses to facilitate the understanding of our constructions. You have some knowledge in different design codes, especially pressure vessel codes and interpretation thereof. You also have the ability and experience to run different types of technical projects and you enjoy working together with people with different skills to achieve the best results. We expect you to be very used to working with different types of CAE and calculation tools. We also assume that you have good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
