Main responsibilities
The Mechanical Engineering group within D&E Packaging Material is responsible for the mechanical design towards the converting line within the Packaging Material organization, covering all converting technology areas such as printing, lamination, finishing and material treatment. The Mechanical Engineering group is also responsible for developing and maintaining the converting design specifications related to tools, methods and standards, as well as for driving and scouting the future technologies in mechanical design.
In the role as Mechanical Engineering Responsible you will be the expert in Mechanical Engineering within Coating & Lamination, taking a coordinating role regarding the development activities in the Coating & Lamination area. You will be the main link between the converting technology area and engineering when it comes to technical specifications such as drawings and documentation, and you will be working close to the Technical Manager. You will:
• Build and secure converting key competence engineering know-how.
• Drive assigned resources (consultants and employees) in engineering development activities, being responsible for plans and delivering on time and cost
• Secure that technical requirements and verification of functions are properly documented and fulfilling specifications
• Secure design in Technical Review Meetings
• In dialogue with the Technical Manager recommend solutions for technical issues
• Participate in key supplier meetings driving engineering feedback
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and design standards
• Together with the Manager, drive long term strategy of area with respect to resources, competences, roadmaps, technical solutions etc
The position will be based in Lund with approx. 20% of travelling time.
Qualifications
We believe you have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. within mechanical engineering and extensive experience from working in the area of mechanical design will be a requirement. If you have knowledge of mechanical design in the area of lamination, experience from international work and/or working closely with external partners and suppliers this will be highly valuable. You are fluent in English, both written and oral
In order to be successful in this position, you need good leadership abilities, a good understanding of how to set limits and the capacity of being clear on what is the main focus for the team. You need to have the ability to motivate a group of people and to have excellent communication skills. You are structured, have an analytical mindset and high personal drive. You are a team player and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others. The ability to adjust to changes as well as to different persons are important as you will be working cross functional with different projects and nationalities.
