WHAT WILL YOU DO as a Mechanical Engineer within Product Maintenance?
In the role of PMT Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining our portfolio of already launched products. You will work in the mechanics department responsible for the mechanics in all our products - fixed network cameras, PTZ cameras, encoders, accessories and more.
You will join the PMT-team in the Electronics & Mechanics department of Axis. Currently the PMT-team consists of 2 electronics engineers and 1 mechanics engineer.
Limited travelling to our partners and suppliers, predominantly in Asia but also in Europe and US may be needed from time to time. Typically 1-5 days per year.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Improve and redesign launched products to increase customer satisfaction, predominantly network video cameras but also accessories and thermal cameras.
• Analyze customer cases to find root cause of actual problems in the field.
• Update products, documentation and production procedures to mitigate risks and solve issues
• Development of development processes and templates within the mechanical engineering domain
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe you have a genuine interest in technology, mechanics and problem solving. You have relevant engineering education and experience in product development and/or product maintenance.
We furthermore think you are a curious and result-oriented person that can work well on your own or in a team. You need to have a feeling for customer satisfaction and the ability to solve technical problems in a structured way. You have very good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
In addition to the above, experience from the following areas is desirable:
• Master or Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience from design and manufacturing of injection molded and die casted mechanical parts is highly valued
• Experience of high precision mechanics, small motors and moving parts
• Experience of 3D CAD, preferably Pro/Engineer and Windchill
• Cultural understanding and an openness towards people from other cultures and backgrounds is important
• Experience from design and development of electronics would be very valuable but not necessary
