What you will be a part of
Industrial Products and Services (IPS) act like a holding company for the units included, a collection of independent business units with their own tailor-made strategies to achieve profitable growth. IPS includes the business units; Aerostructures, Avionics Systems, Combitech, Traffic Management and Ventures and represents about 15 percent of Saab. IPS is mainly located in Linköping, Järfälla, Jönköping, Sweden, South Africa, Finland and Norway.
Avionics Systems develops and manufactures qualified systems and equipment (electronics, mechanics and software) for demanding applications in aircraft and helicopters. Many of these products are developed in collaboration with other parts of Saab or external partners. Most of our projects are carried out in an international environment and we supply products for two of the world's largest aircraft manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing.
Product Areas Control & Actuation, Gripen and Mission Avionics as well as Common Engineering are all part of the Business Unit Avionics Systems and have its operation in Huskvarna and Järfälla.
The section Mechanical and System Engineering within the Engineering Department is looking for an Mechanical Engineer with location in Huskvarna.

Your role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you are a part of a team of 10 competent engineers, working with all products in Avionics Systems. You report to the project managers and your line manager.
You will be working in all phases in product development, from concept studies of new products to maintaining products in serial production. Typical products are electromechanical actuators, electronics chassis and head-up displays.
Often you work in a project, interacting with other disciplins like electronics, system, purchase and production. This require ability to work independent but also a good Communication skill.
We develop our products in Catia V5 and perform most analysis in ANSYS.
You are expected to contribute with new and reliable mechanical solutions as well as a drive to document the final solution.
The avionics environment is demanding with focus on function, weight and cost in temperature and vibration.

Your skills and experience
It is valuable with experience from:
• Mechanical development
• Material and surface treatment knowledge
• Basic calculation for gears, bearings and stresses
As educational background you have a BSc in engineering, or other adequate education.
The position entails working with classified information. Therefore, you are required to participate in and pass a security test conducted by authority.
