Mechanical Engineer - Power Supply

At RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers around the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. As MECHANICAL ENGINEER within the Section Power Supply you will be responsible for installation and design of components. Power Supply is responsible for generation, storage and to provide electrical energy to the car. It is a section with three sub-groups, Analysis &Verification, System, Components and you will be a part of the Component group. Recent years with strong focus on CO2-reduction has lead to an increase of features within the sections responsibility. Our work and products have a large effect on future research & development and this means that we have great challenges and many possibilities ahead of us to develop our products for coming years. The section has until now used resident engineers for some work but the intention is to in-source this work from the beginning of 2013 and this will create opportunities within the group. Your technical competence should be strong so that you can make your own decisions and technical conclusions. Your mindset should be visionary and with an aim of finding solutions.

Job profile:

• Plan and lead component development within dedicated area
• Installation and design of components
• Supplier contacts
• Establish design guidelines
• Lead investigations of installation alternatives

Your profile:

• Driven and enthusiastic
• Organised and structured in following up the work
• Good knowledge of English (spoken and written)
• Experience from Mechanical engineering
• Experience from Automotive industry is meritorious
• User experience of Catia V5
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
