Are you ready to be a part of a dynamic team at Hiab, a world-leading company that pioneers load handling solutions? With a strong focus on innovation and front-loaded product development, we are on the lookout for a Mechanical Development Engineer to join our ranks.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to design new crane models and components, meticulously adhering to specifications and creating essential documentation. You'll also be actively engaged in a wide spectrum of projects while fostering collaborative relationships within cross-functional teams and nurturing partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.
The position is located in Hudiksvall, Sweden and reports to the Design & Development Manager, R&D.
Main tasks and responsibilities
As a Mechanical Development Engineer at Hiab, your role encompasses various responsibilities to drive innovation and product excellence. You'll be responsible for designing new crane models and components, adhering to specifications, and creating detailed drawings and documentation. Active participation in projects is crucial, where you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to achieve project objectives.
Embracing new technical aids and software to streamline work processes is part of your daily routine. You'll also ensure compliance with established processes and regulations within the Cargotec Integrated Management System (IMS). Monitoring competitors and technological advancements will be essential to maintain product competitiveness.
In addition to your daily tasks, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the achievement of departmental targets and goals. You'll have the opportunity to participate in cross-functional development projects, enhancing material solutions and test methods, all while working closely with our R&D Engineers to optimize product development.
What you'll need to succeed
Engineering Expertise: Hold a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Design Prowess: Previous professional experience in mechanical design and CAD work is preferred. Extra merit is expertise in welded steel structures, cylinders, polymers, or castings.
Global Reach: Possess proficiency in English, both spoken and written, as you'll be part of international projects.
Problem-Solving Aptitude: Leverage your analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and determination to achieve results.
Team Player: Collaborate seamlessly within a team, sharing knowledge and fostering cooperation.
Self-Driven: Display flexibility, a service-oriented approach, and a strong sense of motivation.
