Are you passionate about Mechanical Design and want to be part of an organisation with a high technical level?
The Filling Machine Mechanical Design department, within Carton Value & Economy, is a dedicated team responsible for the design of all roll fed filling machines in Lund. Carton Value & Economy machines operate all over the world with diverse and challenging demands on our equipment. To meet these demands our development teams must find simple, robust and elegant solutions to intricate problems at lowest possible cost.
In the role as Mechanical Designer you will have the opportunity to work with early technology development, product development as well as product life cycle activities. Most of your assignments will include frequent interactions with other people and competence areas such as automation, test engineers, aseptic specialists and sealing technology. As you grow in your role there is a possibility for you to take the overall responsibility of a system or sub-system.
Main responsibilities
• Drive mechanical design activities including planning, requirements handling, design, validation and documentation
• Actively pursue studies and know-how of new technologies and components
Qualifications
You are a person with strong analytical skills and a genuine technical interest. You combine creativity, drive and focus with a quality-conscious mind. Your will to contribute and deliver is strong but you always put the success of your team first. You manage contacts with other competences with ease, within as well as outside the company. You also possess leadership competence, with the ambition and ability to lead a team of designers.
You have a University degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years well documented experience from mechanical engineering and design within food, auto- motive or life science industry. You have very good knowledge of some CAD tool, preferably Pro/E. You have experience of working in projects within given time and cost frames. Special attention will be paid to candidates with experience of advanced problem solving, FMEA, manufacturing techniques, virtual engineering and quality work such as Six Sigma or similar and/or robust design. To be successful in the role you will need a good command of English, both spoken and written.
