The Mechanical Design Team, part of the Design Department, consists of 12 designers plus consultants. The Team is responsible for the mechanics of our products including basic layouts, steel structure, operation and pipe/cable routing. This makes the team the real heart of the company.
The team works with different types of tasks such as contract design, product maintenance and Research & Development. Design support is provided to all down- and upstream functions.
Background
In order to strengthen the Mechanical Design team to meet future challenges and secure execution of of expected interesting contracts we need to add team members.
We are currently developing and introducing new working methods in different areas such as contract design management, proactive quality assurance, CAD methods and product documentation. In this strategic change work we need experience, fresh ideas and unspoiled minds with right attitude.
We are a very efficient and value adding focused team with a minimum of overhead. All team members are therefore expected to work hard and hands on close to the customers.
Who are you?
The successful candidate may have some years of mechanical design experience from marine or offshore equipment business.
You may also have a background related to other products but qualify by having a good feeling for mechanical design in general and ability to learn details.
You have a positive and proactive attitude as well as being full of energy when faced with a challenge. You have good communication skills, both within your team and with internal and external partners.
If you have an innovative mind you will be even more interesting to us.
What do we offer?
We offer a mix of contract design work, development of base product & method development and participation in strategic work within the company.
As part of the contract teams the target and customer focus is very evident and often also the challenge to solve technical issues and meet demanding time plans. We are a small organisation so you will soon see the complete picture.
At some point along your development curve you will be tasked with leading others in their work.
Extensive international contacts and occasional travel will be required, as our business is truly global both in terms of operations and customer base.
