We are looking for a Mechanical Design Specialist to work on concept development. The work includes moving mechanics, electron source design, and powder handling in vacuum at high temperatures. You will play a key role in the System Research team to find new solutions for the next generation of EBM machines. You will be working in a creative and innovative team to explore new mechanical strategies and secure technology readiness for industrialization.
Your daily work includes proof of concept design and testing for the next generation of Arcam EBM products. You will participate in keeping our technological roadmap attractive by understanding customer future needs. This includes develop and maintain internal and external relations to share experiences and bring in new ideas. The position will include occasional travelling a few times a year.
Requirements
• M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 5 years working experience with mechanical engineering and CAD tools (Creo or equivalent)
• Ability to independently drive, plan and coordinate the mechanical design work
• Previous experience from working with mechanical pre-study concepts is meritorious
• Experience working with powder distribution, heat management, and/or vacuum technology is an asset
• Excellent level of English, both written and spoken
• An open mind, a willingness to find innovative solutions and to deliver results
