About the position
SSAB has a long history of working together with our customers in order to upgrade products and to fully utlize the potential in high-strength steels. The result after upgrading is often a lighter product enabling more payload, less fuel consumption and less impact on the environment.
SSAB Services is a business unit within SSAB focusing on the downstream business. The unit has several processing Centers around the world but are also utilizing other sources within and outside SSAB to process and deliver products to our customers. Via these centers SSAB Service deliver components, kits for assembly and ready made products to OEM 's.
The central Product Management team develop and manage products and services towards the downstream business, both for SSAB units and together with our customers. The team also support, train and coach the staff in the processing Centers. The focus is primarily on mobile equipment.
Key to success in a global decentralized organization with many differently skilled people is focus on knowledge sharing of best practices and listening and acting on the needs of the market.
As a mechanical design engineer you take part in designing and developing the Engineered product program, supporting the processing Centers, training of the centers designers in CAD tools and in technical sales. The position requires traveling to processing centers and customers around the world.

Your qualifications
As you will be training and coaching engineers and draftsmen at the processing Centers and take part in developing industry leading products you are an engineer with at least 3-5 years experience in a similar position.
Skills needed to succeed in the role are Design expertise with either focus on designing, drafting and using different CAD-softwares (preferably inventor) or FEA simulations (proficient in LS-Dyna).
Structured with an eye for details and able to inform and absorb complex information and deliver on short deadlines. Customer service oriented with ability to work in a decentralized changing organization with different nationalities and cultures.
Being able to master English fluently is a requirement, other languages are an advantage.
You are result driven, a coplayer, and humble.
